As a Narrator…
Steve has narrated for Bram Stoker Award winning and Best Selling authors such as Joe R. Lansdale, Chris Philbrook and Tom Deady as well as numerous others. In addition to performing many different accents and voices, he employs sound and vocal effects to increase listener immersion. These include monster and computer effects or even the buzz of voice coming through a communicator device.
Steve produces all of his own recordings in a home studio using a Sure MV7 microphone and the software Reaper with plug-ins from Izotope to ensure a high quality professional end result.
As an Author…
Starting with his first novel “The Bone Eater King” in 2017, Steve has gone on to write 4 novels and 2 collections. Many of his short stories have also been published in critically acclaimed anthologies including "The Rack" and “SLAY: Stories of the Vampire Noire”. In addition, his work can be found in the comic book anthology series Gore Shriek: Resurrectus and (because why not) he’s even co-written a screenplay.
While Steve’s writing is firmly rooted in horror, genres such as weird westerns, dark fantasy and adventure are often in the mix.
As a Podcaster…
Since 2018, Steve has co-hosted the nostalgia podcast RETRO RIDOCTOPUS (part of The Dorkening Podcast Network) with his brother Tim and many of his closest friends. The show strives to shine a positive “anti-internet culture” spotlight on all the movies, toys, video games and pop culture that “made growing up awesome”.
And for the interview-centric bonus episodes called THE BRIG, he has sat with such notable names as Frank Coniff and Mary Jo Pehl (from Mystery Science Theatre 3,000), actor Daniel Roebuck, dozens of award-winning authors like Christopher Golden and Clay McLeod Chapman, as well as countless musicians, filmmakers and artists.
